Interesting times for PC gamers with Valve making announcements all this week and one later on today. We've known for a while that they're going to be releasing a piece of hardware to run steam to play games on your tele but
Q. What would encourage gamers who probably already own a decent PC to buy the steam console?
possible A. If it was bundled for sale with Half Life 3!!!
I don't think the steam box would prove to be very succesful unless it was given away with the game or sold very cheaply with the intent to for valve to make money through selling games on-line. With the likes of GTAV setting the bar for games very high the pressure on valve to produce a game of such quality will also be very high. But as we all know Valve can and have produced the goods before. I still play TF2 all the time and never gets boring, DOTA2 I've not been able to devote as much time to and that is a game that requires game play to get better. As I said... interesting times....
Booo, the big announcement is not HL3 related 🙁 Great idea though for the controller.
Definitely interesting times, and a unique concept. Valve are very good at making money from ideas people don't normally think of.
Am on a MvM binge ATM 🙂
