Can you do this? Seems to work if I just take my SIM out the phone but any catches?
Phone is "locked" to Orange by the way.
The iPhone is essentially an iPod touch with inbuilt telephone capabilities too.
So remove the SIM card (hence the ability to make calls) and you have pretty much got yourself an iPod Touch...
My son uses an old iPhone without a SIM card as an iPod. No problems.
IIRC as well, the iPhone (as opposed to the iPod Touch) will have the GPS capability.
why not stick a PAYG sim in there, then your Ipod can make calls as well!
If you only want it for music you might be better off selling it to one of those phone purchasing companies and buying a new Nano?.... (Especially as Ebay is awash with them from the Apple replacement scheme recently).
