I'm pretty happy with the way my physique is coming along at the gym, but normal chest execises (fly's, presses) are only developing the bottom of my pecs. The standard answer for upper chest is incline presses, but I've been looking and there are various other methods mentioned

Do you have a favoured exercise that gives results?

Press ups, with hands slightly wider than shoulders.

Could try calisthenics handstand pushup. Split the earth going down, crush the earth on the way up.

Start with a regression - feet on a 20inch box, hinge at the hips. 7+7+7 top, bottom, full.

How long have you been going to the gym for, and how much are you benching?

Inclined cable flys, better than dumbbells as the force continues at the top

Why not both?

On and off, 10 years, but with big lay off's. Recently I've been going a couple of times a week for the past year or so. I don't really bench much tbh - I'll maybe do 40kgs plus bar on the Smiths machine, 20kgs each side on the cable fly's, between 60-90kg's on the chest press machine. Yes I know free weights are better 😉

Inclined cable flys

This is one I've seen and fancy - I do quite a lot on the cable machine

@paton - I'm struggling with push up's at the moment with tennis elbow (or whatever it is) and have to be very selective with hand position

I recommend Ryan Humiston on YouTube, he will have something. His newer content isn't as good but the older stuff is superb.

see, you knew the answer all along! 😃
The stabilisation you need to do with a barbell bench uses ALL the muscles. Much simpler than trying to find yet another isolation exercise to fill in the gaps you're missing with all your current isolation exercises 😂

For me it's a single arm cable crossover, high to low bringing the arm all the way across the body.
