Intergalactic -> Trophy Wife - The Quiet Earth. Carlsberg don't do sign language....
Damn missing posts. Maybe this'll fix it.
Damn missing posts

Earth is a planet -> Planet Mu recording artiste -> Rudy Zygadlo - Manuscripts Don't Burn
manuscripts were often written on Animal skins
Nitin Sawhney had a track remixed by Quantic as did Bonobo.
Bonobo feat Andreya Triana, Eyes down.

Hmm, I've got that album, haven't listened to it enough.

From the album Flesh Tone, Kelis - Acapella
Kelis -> Milkshake -> Garbage - Milk
Kelis -> Milkshake? I dont get it.
Anyhoo. Milk - Black milk: massive attack - who also remixed Garbages milk above, better than the original IMO.
Kelis-> Milkshake like this
And Black Milk -> The Black Keys - Tighten Up
Tighten up -> Loose Fit -
..sounds good to me...

great way of discovering new bands this thread eh?
Discovered a lot of good stuff and bought Treats by Sleigh Bells off the back of this thread. I shall now attempt to tenuously link to another one of their tracks from the last...
Too much aggression might lead to a riot.
Riot Rhythm - Sleigh Bells
Last time I saw Sleigh Bells live, this band were the support:
Teeth - "See Spaces"
A double link : Nicolas Jaar - Space is only noise if you can see
Cool track
In Space ... are Stars - Starkey (Itel Tek remix, in case I've already posted the original)
Anneka - Anneka Rice - Treasure Hunt - Treasure of We - Glasser
Glass -> window -> windowlicker.
Nice one. Not heard The Third Twin before.
Bit obvious,but...
The original of the above samples MJ's Thriller.
And from MJs Thriller back to justice's remix of Thriller
.
Another Jackson - Jackson & His Computer Band - Utopia
Why is that track strangely familiar, and i dont own it or have not heard of them before?
Computer - IBM - The idot/Genius that is Johann Johannsson
and some info on this concept album if interested?
Inspired by a recording of an IBM mainframe computer which Jóhann’s father, Jóhann Gunnarsson, made on a reel-to-reel tape machine more than 30 years ago, the piece was originally written to be performed by a string quartet as the accompaniment to a dance piece by the choreographer Erna Ómarsdóttir. For the album version, Jóhann rewrote the entire score, and it was recorded by a sixty-piece string orchestra. He also added a new final section and incorporated electronics alongside those original tape recordings of the singing computer.
it was seeing this on mtv (on holiday in spain in early 90's)that got me into them 😀
Why is that track strangely familiar, and i dont own it or have not heard of them before?
I can make it available 😉 ... Was pretty big in the "underground music scene" a while back. Hardly dated that album.
Was it in an advert recently?
from big money to big fish
Not that I know of. Doesn't mean it hasn't been though. What was the last track btw? Can't see the YouTube link on the iPad.
That jackson tune was in an O2 ad
Right, off to find something that isn't A-Ha to link to!
Take on Me -> Take Me Home by A.Human (with some nice dancing.)
That Johann Johannsson is very cultured. Might have to give that a listen while working 🙂
That jackson tune was in an O2 ad
excellent I knew I had heard it somewhere, 10 points to you, you dont win anything though!
Take me Home - take me to the hospital. (Sub Focus remix)
Hospital -> Alex Winston - Medicine
[edit] finally listened to Johansson above - superb
Still one of my fave tracks from the "Mary-Anne Hobbs era" (as I like to call it)
Medicine8 - Capital Rocka
Star***** -> Star Slinger - Elizabeth Fraser (hmm, I wonder what that could be followed with)
Slackers!
Ok, seeing as I'm feeling mushy this morning, Liz Fraser features on this Craig Armstrong track "This Love"
DAMMIT! 😀
[s]Stars -> Explosions in the sky - First breath after coma
RIGHT - same band, but a link to This Love as it was (apparently) in the soundtrack of Love Happens
Explosions in the sky - Your hand in mine
Ha! Monday morning simul-typing eh!?
Explosions -> Bomb -> Bomb Zombies - Wednesday
Zombie Nation - Chick Flick. Bleeptastic!
Chicks on Speed (for Plumber 😉 )
Euro Trash Girl
Ive missed this week, new job and limited internets etc
chicks - chicken - Thunder Chicken The Mighty Imperials, for all the funkmaniacs.
Chicken-Bone Circuit - RJD2
Unsure of the genre, slightly scared it might be jazz ([url=
jazz!)... RJD2, towards the outer edge of hip-hop.
Jazz trance link from Nick's post in this thread...
More Chicken
Chicken -> Bird -> Two Wounded Birds - Night Patrol
The elusive and captivating Lone Pigeon, spotted live last night at a church hall on Leith Walk. Opened with a 40 minute piano and kazoo composition. Quite spectacular, if slightly shambolic.
Ah thread, good to see you back 🙂
Picking 'Blue' from the last title, gives so many options!
I'll go for Suuns - Organ Blues cos I missed seeing them live earlier this year and was a bit annoyed.
Organs have keyboards. Money Mark repaired a keyboard for one of his albums, an album which heavily featured an organ I believe...
The track is called 'Insects are all around us'
Pretty sure it's Money Mark on this. Hope so, or I've broked the link!
Beastie Boys - Watcha Want
(Great track Yeti. What album?)
Mark's Keyboard Repair. Released on MoWax in '95 I believe. The whole thing is a corker and so much stuff I hear nowadays reminds me of it.
I'm sure he'll have been on that Beastie Boys track so the link works.
[url=
drop - beastie boy and spike jonze etc.
Kewl 🙂
you beat me to the beastie boys
Brother -> Sister and keeping on a DnB tip
Bad Company - Synthetic Sister
Synthetic Sister -> Chemical Brother(s) - Leave Home
Glasser - Home
