I thought you meant this kind of casting:

Well played Scotroutes.
But it is a good thread idea!
This remains the greatest casting decision of all time:
We need an Egyptian who currently lives in Spain. Let's give the job to a scottish person who can only do scottish. Oh he needs to do swordfighting? Well, too bad. How about the lead role, a Scottish person? Well we'll give that to a french person with a, uh... What the **** is that accent? He sounds like a sewing machine. Anyway, perfection
Scardeypants, I'm scared... a pastry brush, Turkey baster, needle valve and a pipe cleaner? Wtf
World champion, Danny Moeskops..
Rainman

Cougar, got to disagree there. I reckon he only got into his role in the third or fourth series
Stoner, disagree away.
On this forum, we're quite tolerant of people being as wrong as you are.
(-:
Lemonysam, That's going to be tough to beat.
heh! It's rare but STW has finally produced a non-football related thread where I have absolutely no idea what the hell is going on. Something to do with the most appropriate people for a character or something I guess?
There is a good reason the film of Lemony Snicket died on it's arse.
That is the culprit.
There is a difference between good casting and good acting.
Cumberbatch in Sherlock is good casting, he is a rather irritating self absorbed posh sounding tosspot, very far from being a good actor but spot on for the Sherlock's persona.
Gary Oldman on the other hand has played many great characters over the years, that can be put down to acting ability.
I think films that Tarantino have a hand in get it right,
Uma Thurman has ruined several of his films.

Disagree, I think he made it.
Good one lovewookie, absolutely stole the film...
Tilda Swinton in anything that involves being bonkers
Yeah, but not just bonkers, unsettling and unworldly bonkers. Her angel definitely wasn't people, by the end.
#include <stdio.h>
main()
{
int sum = 12, count = 3;
double mean;
mean = (double) sum / count;
printf("Value of mean : %f\n", mean );
}
colournoise - MemberDefinitely a triumph of casting over acting. Can't think of anyone else with the same perfect (for the role) mix of blankness and slight bemusement.
SImiliarly, Matt Damon in the first Bourne film- always looks totally surprised at what just happened. It's a gift he has.
Keanu Reeves in Pointbreak. Who else could possibly play a stoned, dropout, surfer dude with such gravitas? He makes the doors seem animated.
CBA to sort a photo from my phone- Ben Kingsley in Sexy Beast
Ben Kingsley in Sexy Beast
Another case of an actor nailing the part rather than great casting.
Disagree. He certainly did nail it but whoever did the casting had to have seen what he could bring to the role.
"What's it got in its pocketses?"
