Saw one of these today for the first time, I have fallen in love... still a major mini fan, but this is now my aspirational british sports car 🙂

On another note the guy that sometimes looks at my MG is rebuilding one of those GT6s, they have a very flexy chassis and rust worse then the MGBs, he also said they were slow. But they looks so nice and don't cost to much. Go on get one!

I have always liked the look of the GT6, nicer looking than the Spitfire and mgb-gt if you as me, think it was the wooden dash that attracted them to me.

Did like the idea of the flip front, should make working on the engine/servicing easy.

Whenever you followed one the rear tyres always looked like they were caving in? Not sure why, but it did look a bit odd from behind.

I used to have a Austin Healey Sprite, with a 1275 enging, pleanty enough power to have some fun with without getting into silly speeds 😉

Lets face it, its not the sort of car you want to go raceing aroundin anyway 😉

Rust-tastic though British sports cars from that age, worth getting it checked fully by someone in the know if you do go looking for one.

I even like the colour of that one psychle.

Do they have the overdrive gearbox?

If you want really big balls its the Austin Healey 3000, with a Chevy 350 supercharger and NOS!

As an apprentice I was cyling home when a GT6 overtook me.
I didn't know what it was but I liked it so sped up to catch it in traffic.
I couldn't beleive it when I read "Triumph", I was a Triumph apprentice, for Christ's sake.
These were out of production by a couple of years but I saw the last Spitfire and the last TR7 roll off the lines at Canley( Now a Tescos/Muckdonalds/KFC/warehouse kind of place).
Got a Herald convertible on the garage for restoring if anyone's interested?

What about a REAL man's car, a TR6.

Women are not allowed to drive these by law. No, really.

I made a convertible GT6. Mostly, the rear of a GT6 sits on the same bolt holes of a Spitty. take rear body shell off, bolt on spitty, hey presto.

Mate had one that was supercharged, good for about 140. Scary mind.

Always remember one that knocked around Henley with a Premature E-Type sticker on the window.

Made me smile
