If I wanted to pay for a foreign product in foreign currency and send money via transferwise using my credit card to pay the money to Transferwise. Would I end up with any purchase insurance on the thing I'm buying? Or is it more like a cash advance?

Interesting question

As I big transferwise user I'm interested

Personally I treat it like bank transfer and do my own research before transfers. I'd be very surprised if you got any credit card protection (UK law) at the conversion level.

How about your credit card + a curve card? Should get a similar exchange rate to TransferWise.

If say no. Bit like using PayPal where there is no protection on your CC.
