[Closed] Tracking down a lost life insurance policy

This is a bit of a longshot, but I'll give it a whirl. My nan died at the weekend. My dad is pretty sure she had a life insurance policy, possibly bought with a lump sum, taken out some time in the '90s.

We've been through her meagre belongings (sad to see that 86 years of life can be packed in to the boot of a car) and paperwork, but can't find a thing.

Does anybody here know how we might be able to track this down? Is there an agency with a register or records we could search? Has anyone dealt with this and been successful?
