Why the sudden fashion for 30 minute long mixes of crappy* dance music mixes? Does it mean the DJ's get to knock off half an hour early and not get paid? Last night before the artist in residence slot was bad enough, but who want's to listen to that at 7am in morning, which is what happened today.

I'm moaning on here as I assume with the volume of 6 Music threads this is the normal suppository for listener feedback.

*there's no words, it's all just boom boom boom and I've never heard of them. That lass should wear a coat to keep her kidneys warm... [/oldman]

In before the 'not enough straggly looking white men playing mid range indy rock' comments.

The eclectic mix of music on 6 is one of the main plusses for me.

I haven't listened to 6 for months but if you hadn't just prompted me to tune in I never would have known that 'Step On' by the Happy Mondays is a cover. That John Kongos version (never head of him) is a banger.

Friday mornings are usually dance music themed.

After 10:30 Mary Ann sonic landscape just kicks back rolls a fag and listens to someone else's work. The difference today is that Genome (silent N) is covering for the yellow haired Geordie lass this week so the dance shite has started earlier

Mary Anne Hobnobs does Techno Tuesdays every week. It's urm... on Tuesdays.

Agree on the not wanting a half hour Magaluf soundtrack at 7 in the morning.

God, have you listened to the hypnotic sleep music before Chris Hawkins though? Makes Mary Anne's sonic soundscapes sound positively exciting.
No DJ, just never ending electronic dirge.
Poor people who work nights.
