Did he mention the brand new frame I bought off him that snapped after 7 months use ?
It's just that I emailed him about it and he never replied.

To be fair, 'CrazyMTQGraham the FrameSnapper' is probably well known amongst most of the frame builders of the world!

"Nice guy" ? That's not how I would describe someone who sells frames that do this after seven months, then doesn't reply to emails.

ok after a quick googling gary fisher isn't the same as dave from halfords.

but seriously though? rolling eyes because somebody didn't know who he was? drivers dont expect other drivers to know who designs and makes cars or who the current rally driving stars are so why do cyclists get all rolly eyed when a cyclist doesnt know who neil armstrong or gary fisher is?

Was he on the cycle show? Was he the guy with the ridiculous moustache who was on the same show as Graham O'Bree?

for the record i know who all these chaps are, but i dont get the expectation for people who ride bikes to know these things.. if it wasn't for the time i spend on this site i wouldn't know who GF is, danny hart, TJ, jedi, steve peat and all that lot!

most people who ride bikes dont care, they just enjoy riding bikes ๐Ÿ™‚

I don't think it's anyone who rides a bike should know but anyone who's passionate about mountain biking, well I'd be mildly surprised if the name meant nothing to them.

Back to the OP, cool, I've never met any of my heroes, not sure I want to, got a nasty feeling I'd just say "wow it's you!" then grin like an idiot in complete silence til they get creeped out and walk away.

just text everyone in my normal riding group who love riding mountain bikes.... 6 people replied, nobody knew who he was.

then again i can go riding with them and we have lots of fun, there's no talk of what PSI to run the rear shock at or whether spending an extra 4pounds on different tyres would increase traction when riding over the dead bodies of the weak.... so they may not be STW material, but they love riding and they're fun to ride with, cos its all about the experience ๐Ÿ™‚

I think you need to get some new riding buddies Phil, are you seriously telling us that you just go out and ride your bikes? Ridiculous.

So Gary Fisher can't be a 'nice guy' because a company he doesnt own made a frame that snapped?

MTQG FrameSnapper, If GF remembered you, he would have probably told you to leave more seatpost in the frame...
