Top of my list, and requested several times before is a link which takes you to the end (rather than start) of a thread you've replied to from your profile page. There must be plenty more things we're after which haven't yet been done and they should have time to sort out now.

Change at least the Classfieds back to being sorted by last thread rather than last post. Traffic may be up on the Classifieds but I think its the fact that every post causes a bump that is the real reason that new threads only stay on the first page for an hour

Sorry Nuke & Trusty I disagree, I have put adverts on in the past and they have gone to the second page in less than an hour because of high usage in selling which means that it has to be re-posted again rather than just a bump!
Agree with Nukeproof and Trusty. Why not have an option to "sort by"

Yep small avatars would be nice, and space for a mugshot in your profile.
The search facility is awful.
It should automatically default some meta-tags onto the thread when none have been added by the user.
It should also search across title and content (meta-tags) with a search weighting placed on the title.
If people could search effectively there may be no need to *bump* so frequently.

IM not so HO. Avitars and sign off text make the treads physically too long. It doesn't work on melh so it won't work on here.

I'd like to be able to go to the 'next page' on the summary page. I prefer to look at this page rather than the bike or chat specific pages.

Please work on the Search function. Also agree that classifieds should sort by thread not most recent post - its fairer and a good search function would stop unnesecary bumping.

Surely for the search they should just have a google search bar (as other forums I use do)?
oh yeah and second aleigh's comment about a pic in the profile - a lot of us added our email address to the bottom of the pic to cut down on bots getting our email address and so cutting the spam a bit.
Also it would be nice to know who last posted on a thread.
For instance, if I could see that CaptainFlashHeart was the last person to post I would know that it would be worth clicking, as it would be highly likely that the comment was amusing, witty, and well thought out.
On the other hand if it was RudeBoy, I would know not to bother as it would almost certainly be a load of bollox by some bleeding-heart trendy lefty liberal with a chip on his shoulder 😯

On the forum if you click on the 'freshness' link it takes you straight to the last post on that thread.
You can add topics to your favourites if you want to keep an eye on them - accessible from your profile page.
I think many of you were so used to the old forum that you're incapable of seeing new facilities within this one. Open your eyes! 😆

You dont need a preview button, you have an EDIT button that most people begged for with the last forum. Preview does nothing useful, you can read your text in the initial box and if your formatting comes out wrong just edit it.
As for the "go to the last page link" request - doesnt that happen if you just click on the freshness of the post on the main forum?

true but if you're in your profile threads view, you can't do that and it always takes you to the first page.

Some sort of rating/trustworthiness thing for classifieds would be good. For e.g. I've only been a member for a couple of weeks and have sold a load of stuff already to people who don't know me bar a made up user name and email address.
I'm sure most people on here are trustworthy but, just like real life you're going to get people coming on just to rip people off
Lanesra - that's unlikely - in the past, the stw management have explained that they don't want to do that as they're not trying to run a classifieds section as a business - it's just something that's there for convenience for us lot. Getting into buyer ratings then would suggest that stw is in some way responsible for the transactions that go on (just look how much everyone complains about ebay) which understandably they want to avoid.
As ever, you can get some idea of how trustworthy people are on the classifieds by looking through their history.

could have simple ratings buttons on all posts to denote trolls, who may then have thier font size halved so they are less disturbing
