We will be in touch
Watched the last episode last night from my PVR, having watched it avidly from the pilot through all seven (6 1/2) series. Couldn't get to sleep, actually, after watching, partly because of the Sopranos-esque ending. It was truly excellent, despite some weak spots such as in Season 2; Season 4 was a bit patchy, and from Series 5 onwards there was a sense of foreboding over the whole thing.
Agh!
Great TV. Yeah, a bit of an open ending - does that mean there'll be another series though?
How well did Chiklis act that last bit where he was stuck in the office.. Brilliant.

Nah that is it unfortunately. Without giving spoilers i cannot really see a way where it could carry on given the status of most the main players.
it was excellent tho i am rather annoyed as instead of the 2hr version shown in the states we got a re-edited 2 parter with ****** death half way through rather than at the end
having downloaded the US version the impact was much greater

nope that was the end, no more of that - Michael Chikils was the either the producer or director of the show from early on and he said that there would only ever be 7 series.
Great ending everyone expected him to get shot but that really was a fate worse than death for him - the shane story was a bit of a shock though...
I think he pops out and goes "postal" from the top of the building....in a Waco/Rambo/wild bunch style ending
top TV
Yeah, the two-part element was a bit unfortunate, but then the Shield does work better (IMHO) as hour-long shows.
And personally I thought Mackey's ending was fantastic - essentially it's like hell for him, with the other strike team members where they are (because of him), and him being shown how the lights work...
But the last series did feel like it was just building towards that, really, with the story sometimes getting very complex just to put certain characters in particular spots (eg Mackey trying to speak to ICE about Corinne). And in fact, series 6 was essentially just teeing up the plot ready for Season 7 to kick off.
Still amazing TV, though, and even in some of the weaker spots (Season 2 had a mid-season break, FFS, with some weird flashback episode!) I've never found it less than utterly compelling.
Next on the PVR is the Wire! 🙂
Yup seconded, last series was amazing - probably the most affecting TV in ages. Darker than a dark night in darktown nightsville.
Poor Jackson, my heart truely wept.
