My old Discovery has been parked under a tree for a few years. I pumped up the tyres, charged the battery which was toast, then jump started it. It fired on the second turn and ran with no smoke. The clutch and brakes were fine

With MoT testing suspended, I’d say it’s good to go!

Let’s hear your tales of mechanical resurrection

Unless it your MOT expired after March 30th 2020 I think you'll need to get it MOT'ed

As Boxxer7 says, MOT testing has not been suspended, it is only cars with valid MOT certificates with an expiry after 30th March that have an extension.

Well easy to see no one actually read the jnstagram post before getting frothed.

Tongue was firmly in cheek. He's well aware it's a hazard.

Move over skinwall tyres, green is where it's at.

For the record, I’ve no intention of returning the Moss Mobile to the road

Just checked the last MOT in it, bloody hell that's a long list! You didn't even clean it for the inspection 😂

Nice to see an old Disco running. I gave mine to a mate a few months ago, as a suspected immobiliser problem meant it had sat for nearly 2 years with no sign of life on the couple of times I tried to fire it up.

When he came to tow it to the estate where he lives (he's a gamekeeper) the bloody thing turned over first time and has run perfectly ever since he fitted parts costing <£100 !

@reluctantjumper, if was doomed to fail, it was worth doing it in style. The previous years weren’t so bad! I did give it a surface wash before I took it in.

I take it to the Council testing station, they are pretty fair and cannot do any remedial work. I thought he’d had given up when he first saw it on the inspection ramp.

Woody, that’s good to hear another Land Rover has been saved from land fill.
