... tatty. Recommendations for a simple mobile phone, please.
All I need is call and text, but it must be robustly constructed.
Nokia 5210?
I've got one of these (well, the previous model) and it is absolutely indestructible. Three years old and going strong, battery still lasts about a week and a half.
get a smartphone, no point resisting
Nokia 100 should fit the bill.
...and there was me thinking it was going to be a thread about how Nokia is collapsing.
I like the look of the Tesco cheapie, finbar, but T-Mobile not the best network to be on? Would I have to go with T-Mobile or would I be able to change it?
The Nokia 5210 gets very mixed reviews...
Nokia 100's looking good so far.

I don't know about such things i'm afraid - i've been on T-mobile so long i've got a one2one simcard 😆
Amplicom M5010?

You can measure the battery life in weeks
Loads of others on that site too
Or the Nokia 1661, not as rugged as the 5210 but more likely to be found cheap at the local supermarket. Last time I was in ASBO I noticed they were on sale, unlocked as all ASDA mobile phones are, for £25. Either use ASDA mobile and port your number (it uses the Vodafone network) or use your own SIM.
My 5210 is ten years old and still going, despite being dropped and fallen on a few times.
What's the problem with T-Mobile?
They're now part of Orange so you get to use either network.
Looks like you can get a Nokia 8210 really cheap these days (reasonably so too given it's getting on for 12 years old as a model). Tiny, good call quality, no camera, just a phone. Might have to see if I can find mine in what ever graveyard of old mobiles I keep at home.
