Am I missing something (see what I did there) or was it rubbish? My wife loved it but I couldn't make head nor tails of it and the acting was woeful.

Meh, ok but not as good as the first series we thought.

Not a patch on the first series.

The ending of the first series was the best ending to a mini-series I've ever watched. James Nesbitt was great, you really felt he was a man obsessed who just couldn't face the uncomfortable truth (and who would?).
This one felt like someone had commissioned another series but said - "make it a happier ending this time". I still enjoyed it though.

Just started watching it, more time lines than Westworld in the first episode!

Did my napper in, it jumped through time more than Dr. Who. Too convoluted to remember who, what, where and most of all, WHEN.

Thought it was great, proper hooked and will have to dig out Series 1 on the box.

Did think the ending might have been darker though

5-star reviews in the Lego household. Enjoyed it much more than the first series.

We recorded and binge-watched it over a week or so - think it might have been a bit difficult to keep up if we'd had a week between each episode.

We enjoyed it and it's received rave reviews all over the place but there were some really clunking plot points.

For a supposed master detective Baptiste had a tendency just to blunder in and make accusations. Likewise the young German policeman. I suspect this person may be involved. I'll go and tell them I think they might be involved. Strangely enough drill to the head.

Last night after coffee in the Swiss town. 'The girl left town by that bridge there'. Are we expected to believe there was a single path on the other side of that bridge that led directly to the campervan?

And the amazing coincidence that they went for coffee in the same place Sophie went and the waiter that spoke to her happened to be working and he happened to see the photo that Baptiste (or whoever it was) happened to have open full screen on his phone.

I thought it was quite good, but, it played fairly straight when compared to the first series, this one was much more of a "method detective series with happy ending" compared to the slightly leftfield feel of the first, with its definitely not happy ending.

As noted a few clunky plot points, but they didn't spoil it (much).

There probably doesn't need to be a third series.

The third series could go all 'Ashes to Ashes' and feature a now-comatosed after botched surgery Baptiste solving murders in his head.

I really enjoyed it.

The last episode was a bit rushed.

The coffee shop business was a bit weak.

I enjoyed it, but yes the jumping in time was confusing.

Also, why would anyone think someone had committed suicide by lying down on a random part of the floor in their house, before blowing their brains out!? Especially after his son just saw him and he was in a very good mood (and possibly had a new girlfriend).

yes, that was the other thump last night.

You know it's telly right?

Of course, but clunking 'it doesn't work like that' points break the suspension of disbelief.

Only picked up on the 2nd series. Thoroughly enjoyed it, though agree final episode was too rushed and reliant on coincidence. Still can't figure out why Henry Reeds boy upped sticks and headed to Iraq - did I miss something? Also, why didn't Carrick dispose of the troublesome Alice and put her in the shed? Time shifts didn't really bother me, relied on haircuts and facial scarring to figure it out!
Must have a look at series 1 at some point.

.. implied interference in the military police investigation by wotsernames dad?

I enjoyed it, liked the non linear nature, but the last episode did feel a bit rushed.

You're right - not realistic. Would have been much better to show hour after hour of plods knocking door to door, handing out flyers, making phone calls, following up false leads, before finally finding the girl.

But surely the best thing would to have a *believable* storyline. Such as the waiter being the man they ask when making enquiries and then putting it together from that.

Yeah I appreciate it was probably Stone who called it suicide to cover, but it seemed too obvious others would have twigged. And Reed would have had bruising after than man-tussle. Anyway I still really enjoyed it.

The subtitles telling us the dates were the real giveaway!

Entertaining, but no Wire.

Errors annoyed me. Folk carrying a stretcher away after the shed fire, then camera focusses in on the body in there? Cone on!

I'm convinced that Baptiste changed legs for the limp too.
