Call up current insurer and suddenly they can do a special price. Do all insurance companies make their customers feel valued by trying to rip them off at every renewal?

I've never had an existing insurer be able to get anywhere near the price I end up paying after a cursory dabble with a couple of price comparison sites and then quidco or topcashback on top.
