New quote pops through the door with some ridiculous premium increase of around 25%. Find a much better quote off the price comparison web sites. Call up current insurer and suddenly they can do a special price. Do all insurance companies make their customers feel valued by trying to rip them off at every renewal?

AA basic breakdown cover.

'Normally' £50

Renewal 'special' price £40

On their web site £30

Via topcashback £11 (after cashback).

There's always a much better deal to be had online, especially if you go through topcashback or quidco.

I've never had an existing insurer be able to get anywhere near the price I end up paying after a cursory dabble with a couple of price comparison sites and then quidco or topcashback on top.
