We will be in touch
I was on a train today, which slammed on the brakes and we were later told by the driver it was a fault in the system which he managed to free to get us to the next station.
At which point the services was terminated due to dodgy brakes.
Now, I was annoyed, but at the end of the day I don't really want to be on a train with no brakes, so got off an accepted my fate of looking into an alternative service, only to see 10 or so angry passengers literally purple with rage venting their spleen at the driver.
Jeez, what an intolerant world we live in, where a mechanical fault which is potential like threatening causes people rage against the nearest public representative with no thought of the safe position he's just delivered them to.
That is all.
I'm not sure what part of the country you live in, but the problem is that for many rail passengers, that wouldn't have been the only problem with their commute that week (...or possibly even that day).
Southern Rail's performance would test the patience of a saint.
Whenever I see people being irrational, I like to give them the benefit of the doubt. Maybe they really need to be somewhere? Maybe this has happened before on this line? (Edit: What Joe said)
They're probably just ****ers, but it helps to temper the view that everyone is a ****.
Yep. Agreed...it's all ME ME ME NOW NOW NOW!!!
I find it quite depressing...
Oh For God's Sake Kryton GET TO THE POINT!
I'm not sure what part of the country you live in,
London, but this was Bath Spa.
Oh For God's Sake Kryton GET TO THE POINT!
The point is, it wasn't the drivers fault, so he shouldn't be exposed to an angry mob which I'm sure was quite frightening. In fact logically he'd mitigated a safety issue to get us to a platform rather than leave the train midway between two.
Even worse when some poor person has jumped in front of the train...
"dont they realise how inconsiderate they are..." 😯
