tell me about your gems in the Lakes, the amazing little cafe, the special, hidden pub or the secluded little waterfall. A hilltop view? The perfect techy yet flowy descent? The restaurant you'd go back to every time?

What's your secret? 🙂

The view from here as you can see along three valleys, followed by a walk around the end of Crummock for a pint of the aforementioned Gold, but this time in it's own front room at the Kirkstile Inn.

Any ride when the Autumn colours are at their best, the lakes are stunning on blue sky days like this.

Using whinlatter south to get high on the ascent to Grisedale Pike summit. Whiteless Pike into Rannerdale. Saddleback cafe next to Keswick Bikes. Dubs hut. Lingy hut. The beautiful ride from dale head tarn to catbells. The list is endless, that's why I live here.....

Second the kirkstile after a loop on foot of Melbreak, or a swim in Crummock.

Cow Pie at The George in Kewsick.

Sat outside the Tower Bank pub with the wife 2 years ago.
Lovely little traditional pub in Near Sawrey (or Far - can never remember - next to Beatrix Potter's gaff).
Did a walk in Claife Heights during the day - supping a fantastic pint of Loweswater Gold, the sun was low in the cloudless sky, woodsmoke with subtle in the air, birds were singing, lambs were bouncing in the fields opposite, rabbits were bobbing around - it was the perfect spring setting.

Keldas above Glenridding.

Summer Jack's Rake scramble in Langdale followed by a cold cider in the ODG.

I hid mine round the South side of 'the old man of coniston', that was 7 or 8 years ago and still can't find the bloody things. 😥

Steak Pie at the kirkstyle - with beer
Sat on top of any of the mountains on a cloudless night no moon when everyone turns their lights off
Cloud inversion in a similar situation makes it look like you are on one of hundreds of islands

So many to choose from ...

Bivi-ing on Helvellyn to watch the sunset/sunrise. Such an expansive view.

Sat on top of any of the mountains on a cloudless night no moon when everyone turns their lights off
Cloud inversion in a similar situation makes it look like you are on one of hundreds of islands

This sums up exactly my favourite situation.

I should add that what follows is turning on the lights and descending like mad men grinning from ear to ear and finishing up with a pint or 3...

Keldas is a lovely little place to sit and watch.

A beer under the Maple at the Brit in Elterwater mid ride.

A swim in the Duddon after a drink in the Newfield Inn just before the climb over Walna.

Cow Pie at The George in Kewsick.

Rented a flat last week opposite The George. Was 2nd floor, so had really nice views...
