The USA scored the goal they needed to go thru in the 91st minute!

why is it worse for us?
Depends what happens tonight, we could still get Ghana, Serbia or Germany
At the moment Ghana lead Group D

I dont get why USA are top, the BBC says their goal difference is the same as Englands and they both have 5 points?

BBC are correct - so I don't know

edit: doesn't it go on yellow/red cards after points and goal difference?

Countback or something? They've (USA) scored more, maybe that counts?

Same points, same goal difference so it is down to goals scored. 4 for usa 2 for england

The US scored 2 against Algeria, so scored more goals overall.

think the US scored more goals than us in their 2-2 draw, but it cancels itself out, I think?

but it cancels itself out, I think?

They work it out on goal difference first then, if that is the same for both teams, goals scored. If THAT is also the same, they draw lots. (Seriously).

For example, if all games in a group finished, say, 2-2, all four teams get put into a hat and two teams drawn out.

EDIT: I am not sure if they also consider performances against each other (this happens in some tournaments). For example, had USA lost to us but we lost to another team but goal difference/goals scored were identical, would they choose England over USA because we beat them in the group.

Just remember Italia 90...

2 draws and then win in qualifying... just like now,

then we went to penalties in the semi final against West Germany where we lost agonisingly.

2010?

Hopefully 🙂

Potentially means Germany, Argentina Spain and Brazil in the final 🙂 will deserve it if we scrape through that!

I agree with maxray - if England can beat any of the decent teams in the tournament, then fair-doos to them, but scraping a 1:0 win against Slovenia, 25th in the World with a population of 2 x Birminghams (oh God, there's a thought)....

I never met a SINGLE English person who thought England were going to win. A lot who WANT them to win though.

Talk about making stuff up so you have something to complain about..!

I think we have the players who can, on their day, conspire to win.

I don't BELIEVE we will win though.

or germany, mexico, chili, paraguay
or any of about 10 other different combinations
why try and guess results, there has already been some strange upsets, that prove anything can happen

Although it will be -
Germany - Jo'Berg airport - Virgin flight home - heathrow - cheshire/surrey mansions
