Sync music not on iTunes?

So, at the behest of wife/children we have an Apple Music sub.

I now can't work out how to get the odd album that isn't on Apple Music onto my iPhone as it says Cloud Sync means all my library is available, which it clearly isn't.

Any suggestions?

Check the symbols by the tracks in iTunes/music on your computer.

Sometimes tracks ‘stall’ on upload.

Thanks - that might be the issue. Didn’t have it switched on on the Mac for some reason.
