Armthwaite Hall, have dinner its really good - specify a room in the mainhouse not the new rooms down towards the spa &

Sharrow Bay on Ullswater - the original country house hotel. Long time since I stayed there but beautifully furnished, service impeccable, food fantastic. Had little touches like a bottle of Madeira and two glassed in the room
