Probably doesn't mean a lot to you but Andy Irons, three times World champion had died under slightly odd circumstances - possibly an OD.

Total surf legend - here's him and Dave Rasta surfing in a scene that still blows my mind:

Bloody hell! He missed his heat in Puerto Rico earlier in the week and didn't bother showing up for round 2 either so there were a few rumours knocking around. Shocking news.

Bit of a shock 🙁 , looks like it may have been dengue fever.

And there's a bit of controversy too:

Well if its true that Methadone was found in his Hotel room then it certainly wasn't dengue fever!

The internet is rife with rumours of his drug addiction, flakeyness with sponsors, not turning up to events.

Thats a great shame. Imagine all that skill and opportunity at his disposal and just wasting it. 😥

Even with Methadone present in his room I'd wait for toxicology tests before declaring an OD.
If he had dengue he could have been using it to treat the pain it's also known as breakbone fever, I'm not saying that's definatly what he did or even that it was a sensible course of action (far from it) just that it's a possiblity. They also found Zolpidem and "Numerous other medications" he may have thought he could see himself through it as he'd had it(dengue) before.
