Can anybody recommend a decent source specifically for logistics/supply chain jobs?
Trying to avoid the usual ad-led, no info "warehouse manager" postings which is all there seems to be. I don't really need a new job, but it's nice to see what's out there in Midlothian.
What do you want to do?
I work in supply chain, but you need to be more specific for advice to be given. Its a bit like saying "I work in the film industry"...OK so are you Brad Pitt or the guy who runs the catering truck. 🙂
:D^
Looking to manage all in/out ops with a small team of 4-10 in a proportionally high turnover stockroom environment. Ie:10-15k daily ambient/chilled produce.
Looking for multiple responsibilities including online/distribution/training and development.
40hr+ OT options.
Something like that.
Foodmanjobs is a good place to look for logistics food industry jobs.
Don't forget to look directly at company websites that are in your area, many of the best jobs only appear directly on company website and don't make it to external agencies or websites. If its a good role with lots of likely candidates then many companies will advertise internally and approach a few known sources for candidates. However the role MUST be posted on company website so that the company can say it's been an open and fair process.
There are also some good supply chain specific agencies. I can't advise you which as A)I am mainly in procurement and B)I am not job hunting currently so am a bit out of touch.
oh lastly...LinkedIn is your friend. Use it and connect to the companies you are interested in. Don't be afraid to approach directly, but be polite and professional.
Wincanton? Should have a big facility in Motherwell IIRC (they did when I outsourced to them a few years back)
Sign up to jobsite or something similar and put in a fairly open search and get a daily email. You'll have a pretty good feel for at least some of what's out there within a few weeks.
Try Logistics Manager that has a good job section, Michael Paige seem very active at the moment, also supply chain-jobs.com, Monster jobs and total jobs allow area and sector specific searches.
