Half marathon Which I then jogged home from after

Haha my only exercise all week was the sunday social club run. After a tooth out on Monday and a filthy cold the rest of the week I barely hung on to that to the coffee stop. Then in trying to work out why my front brake was virtually ineffective i found out I'd lost a pad from it. At which point another 40km into the wind lost its appeal and instead I rode 5km to the nearest station and climbed onto the broom wagon train.

And had another cuppa and a muffin to get over it.

You can't outride a bad diet and you certainly can't by getting the train home while eating a cake instead.

Ah well, another 12 days to make up for it.

Was away on Friday for last weigh-in, so didn't send in my data. The thing is, I don't think it's changed. The scales seem to be stuck between 180 and 182 lbs and have been for weeks.

I commute by bike to work every day, and get at least a couple of additional proper rides in per week.

I hardly ever exceed 2000 calories.

I think I will just have to have my abdomen liposuctioned.

Yes, true - but don't forget how far we have come too. I see old pictures of me and feel a bit shocked.

I seem to be losing weight relatively easy. Not sure why/how....but I have been a bit more active day to day over the last few weeks.

I see old pictures of me and feel a bit shocked.

In the MFP app when you log a weigh-in, you can add a pic. Kinda wish I had done from the beginning, just to see what a stone-ish off looks like.

So do I - I know I'm as slimmer as clothes fit better, but I wish I'd taken progress photos.

Had an unofficial weigh in today; another 2 lbs down, which is encouraging as I had a couple of 'off plan' days ( I.e. on the beer!) but stayed on track the rest of the week. This bodes well for when I get to the maintenance stage as me and the good lady have decided we would like a couple of nights a week where we don't drink / indulge, and eat healthier the rest of the time.

Had a good week this week - lost 2.5lbs making a total of 15.5.

About a month ago i seemed to plateau and didnt lose much for about 3 weeks despite trying hard with exercise and food / drink consumption.

I'm still doing my fitness challenge and as were now in March the daily distances have doubled again - 4 mile run / 8 mile walk / 20 mile ride. The ride suits me best bit the 90 minute activity is hard to accommodate around work and family every day. Still, its going well and i'll pass the 1000km cycling mark for 2017 later today which is none too shabby!

After a terrible weekend, biscuits, ice cream etc, I somehow managed to hold on to some of last weeks losses. Currently 15lbs, with 15lbs to go. So at the half way stage.

Have had to lower my weight target, as what I thought was my target weight is not going to be enough due to not being as active/muscle-bound as I was a couple of years ago.

On a side note I wonder what the drop off rate is for the challenge now?

73 members, iirc there were 71 originals and then some late adopters, plus a couple have voluntarily withdrawn.

Of those 73 - 19 have not provided the last weigh in (24/2)

Of those 19 - 2 haven't provided a weigh in for the last 2 (ie since 27/1), 7 haven't provided a weigh in since 13/1, and one hasn't actually managed to provide one at all. They are marked as inactive on my list but I promised I wouldn't delete anyone unless they asked and so they're still getting the emails. So 9/19 have missed this last one but have Friday before they become dead to me ๐Ÿ˜‰

Well, I haven't managed to quite live up to previous weeks, but considering my dad died, my sons birthday, and Ive just spent 5 days in St Lucia, 1-2lbs down by friday will be a remarkable result!!

So how's everyone doing? still on it I hope!

I had an ace week last week, dropped my daily kcals a bit and stuck to it really well, and made sure everything I ate was very low fat.

This week feels slower - some one brought biscuits into the office (be rude not to have a couple! ๐Ÿ˜› ) and had a few treats at the weekend, need to re-focus a bit.

Still, looks like I'll be sub 100kg at the start of April, maybe even in March.

Feeling much quicker on the bike too, so feeling good for Hit The North in a few weeks. ๐Ÿ™‚

I have noticed I have been less strict on watching what I eat, and am slowly drifting towards old habits.

Plan on righting the ship this week before any permanent damage is done.

Had a slow start but still ticking along in the right direction ๐Ÿ™‚

Stage 1 (for 7 weeks) - Initially I cut down on portion sizes and tried to eat less junk.
Stage 2 - Continue with above but now stop putting sugar into tea and coffee.
Stage 3 - All of above plus ramp up exercise. Took effort not to reward a hard ride with sugary foods and stuff but I'm managing so far.

Had a bit of a blow out yesterday, cod with lentils was the good part, homemade hollandaise sauce by the ladle full not so good. The ok part is weight no worse than last weigh in. Looking forward to getting some bike rides in a few weeks. Although I am ahead of weight loss target I set myself that was on the basis of muscle build up so I see myself as behind.

I've come off my strict 800Kcal now after 8 weeks. Still eating low carb to finish off the final few pounds. No bread, white rice, cake or biscuits since 1 Jan and don't miss it.

On for a good one this week, I may even overthrow Santsw13 as "biggest loser" if I'm lucky! ๐Ÿ˜‰

800 Kcal a day is harsh! ๐Ÿ˜ฏ I've struggled with 1400 a day for the last two weeks, but I have commuted a (hilly) hour each way too.

Day off today - so went out and did a metric 100 on 2 bagels and a toasted teacake at the cafe. Weighed after I got back (which is cheating because I'd have sweated a load out as well) and just failed to get into the 13's (14st 0.25lb)

Will weigh in the morning too, still well on track for my end Mar (3 weeks time) target of 14.2

Debating whether to have takeaway for tea!

I might need to rejig my targets again, as still have too much slack built in. Will see what happens tomorrow.

I was 14st dead this morning, so 3lb off since last weigh in and achieved my final goal ! 50km ride in the sun this afternoon, so hoping for sub 14st for the first time in over 20 years in the morning!!

I'm transitioning to my long term life plan now - eating higher Kcal, still low carb, no processed cr&p and upping the exercise.

I've revised my own soft target now to 13st7, which was my weight when I started RAF officer training in 1995 - the fittest I've ever been.

Tomorrows weigh in is going to be interesting!

Not been on the scales for two weeks. Was my birthday last weekend, i tried to be good but the lure of party, beer and cake was toooo much ๐Ÿ˜€

Been trying the 5/2 fasting diet with the missus but just find i eat more the day after and it screws up my training schedule. That said I was ok on a fast day yesterday, played an hour of badminton and eaten normally today.

Its definitely improving my fitness which is the important thing. Personal bests on a bike hill climb, running and in the pool this week.

Heart is hoping for a small loss or the same head is saying possibly as small gain. We will see!

Woohoo! Under 14st!! 13st12.8 this morning so that's 295 - goal achieved! Went for a local road ride yesterday and beat my PBs up all the local hills - they were from 3 years ago when I was training for a big hilly 100miler.

GrenoSteve - nothing would make me happier than for you to overtake me. I've achieved my aim and if you can lose more than me to achieve yours too that would be amazing.

Ah, is it weigh in day today? Jon, I'll do mine tomorrow early doors, I'm on a work based jolly today which likely won't help hey hey-ho. In fact, I'll do my usual fasted 10k on Saturday morning then weigh in, that'll work!

Great stuff Dantsw13

I just reweighed after yesterday's 'cheat' and came in at 14.2 So achieved my end Mar goal 3 weeks early, but sl disappointed it's not more. But also shows the effect of hydration / dehydration, I was 14.0 yesterday after a 4.5 hour road ride and even though I had 1.5ltrs of water and a coffee on that ride, clearly still dehydrated to be able to regain 2lbs in a little over half a day!!

If I get some succour - 14.2 = 198lbs = sub 90kg, so that's a milestone ticked. Must update Zwift, I'm 93kg on there..... that first sub 10 Box Hill beckons.

This is why every 2 weeks same morning is good

If I dehydrate myself I can lose 4lbs but it's not fat is it.

I ran last night, without water. Got back in and drank a pint of water (weighs over a lb) and jumped on the scales which said 13 10.

After 2 more pints last night then a protein recovery drink thing I was better hydrated

So this morning after a wee 13 12

Stubbornly static!! grr...

But going well on the bike - went out for a quick spin during lunchtime, and a couple of km/hr faster than normal (despite a headwind for a good portion of the ride).

Just need to focus a little more on not snacking - def my nemesis

Well done to those of you hitting targets - I am doubtful I'll hit my March one, but at least weight is not going up!

I've caught my wife's obsession with regular weighing. It shows the up side & downs, but I now know what does / doesn't affect my weight. It also keeps me on the straight & narrow.

Down to 180, so a slight drop in the right direction again.

In the week I've drunk more beer than usual. Makes you think....

Got to my end of January target 6 weeks late. Not doing much exercise so if I can get some exercise in things might speed up a bit. Just slightly smaller portions and fewer doughnuts and crisps seems to have got things going.

Really hope the 4lbs lost isn't all water. Trousers do feel a bit looser so that must be a good sign.

Had a bad 2 weeks, been ill and not been focusing on diet at all. minimal exercise hasn't helped either, so a 1 lb gain is actually pretty good.

I'm on holiday next week so aim is get back on it and make sure I plan my meals and especially lunch as that always seem to be the one where I fail.

Some great loses here though and it's all motivation for me to keep going and get back on track

JonV - I'll send a weight in on Monday if that's okay?

Currently on holiday in Gozo, which has involved quite a lot of booze and food, but also walking about 8-10 miles a day. So, results could be 'interesting'

So the wife helpfully added up my gluttony over the past two weeks:

1 x Fish and chips
2 x take away Curry
6 x Ale
4 x Guinness
3 x Cocktails
1 x G&T
1/2 20cm Carrot cake
400g Ginger cake
2 x donuts
And thats the bits she knew about.. ๐Ÿ˜ฏ

So I'm quite happy with a 2.6lbs loss. Back on the wagon now to hit the March target. 4.6lbs to go!

I see a few have been sending numbers in already, great!

To others, reminder that i want your stw name and weight in lbs

eg: theotherjonv 198

as the title, makes it much easier for me.

Re targets. i don't propose to change the end Mar (halfway) targets at this stage, they're too close now and if you're going to be way off (over or under) then just accept it and use it as a pat on the back or kick in the arse as appropriate. But once we do reach that point, if you want to amend your end Jun (and final) target to reflect your end Mar position then I'll amend the s/s then.

I've gone right off the boil - half a stone down, but keeping it that way, so not mis about it.

Would like to get shot of another half stone by the end of this so will have to get back on it...

Amazing work by Dan!

Plateauing like a bstard here. Dry Jan laid down some good habits so the ale consumption is OK, just suffering from bad cakeitis.

it is - 2.5st

But there's a few others who deserve big credit; to pick a few Grenosteve's lost 2st, and is 75% of the way to his overall target; Kieran, Scrick, Tiger and Woody are all 1.5st down (and more, some of that is from 2 weeks ago) and the number who've lost a stone or more is too many to name.

Collectively we've lost 700lbs = 50 stones = three whole (fat) people - or four of the new us.
