Loads of old and fab cars at the Welland Steam Fair today (oh yeah livin' the rock'n'roll dream here 😉 ) but never seen anything like this before.

Pretty sure that's nothing that ever came off a production line.

But is there a hint of a Corsair about it...?

Ta.

I should have taken some pics of the other cars there. Some lovely 50s and 60s classics. And a superb 1970s Capri with JPS sun shield. Apparently it wasn't running very well. There's a surprise.

Amphicar! Wow, that's a rarity. I remember a TV series years ago, that had an Amphicar going across a harbour, then driving up a ramp. For the life of me I can't remember the title, but I'm sure it was a sort of private detective programme.

About 4500, actually...

That is one of the best things I've ever seen. How have we progressed 50 years without mass producing a car like this?? I want a car that swims.

VW Type 166 "schwimmwagen" pre dates these and is the most mass produced amphibious car to date.

I lived in Dartmouth years ago and an Amphicar used to cross the river there sometimes, never looked particularly safe.
