Good god. Are you all trying to out do each other on the extra curricular activities section of a job application or something?

Get a mortgage, a house and a dog.

I'm just trying to replace the thrill of having a mortgage, house and dog - all of which no longer possess me.

A marathon would be good, as would sky diving.

Already got the mortgage, two dogs, cat, kids, wife.

Do some Alpine mountaineering

Do a proper, long adventure / journey on foot, bike or water (4 weeks or longer)

Get fit, properly, seriously, very fit. Just once, to see what it feels like

Learn to paraglide

Do some 'pole vaulting' with Allison Stokke

I've been pretty good at getting stuff done. things in the next few years are:

go on a 6 month sabatical (need to be here at work an extra 3 years)
run a marathon (signed on next year, not going to take it seriously as my dad's best time is 2:17, and I'll be a couple of hours past that)
finish paying off the mortgage, unless i move (I'm 28)
Learn French (misses is french)
learn to paraglide/hanglide/something flying ish
run the bulls @ palmero

Once had a big list of things I wanted to do. Nowadays the list has a maximum of three items, with each one getting replaced as it gets done. The current list is:
1. Cycle 100 miles in a day
2. Run a half-marathon
3. Do a triathlon

I had signed up to do both of the first two next month (the Glasgow half-marathon and Pedal for Scotland) but a knacked knee scuppered my training. So when I can, I'm planning on just plotting a route and going and doing them on my own one day rather than waiting for any 'organised' event. And being lame means I can use this time to try to learn to swim, a somewhat necessary skill in order to ever achieve no.3!

Go to NZ (it'd be rude not to do a bungee jump whilst I'm at it) and Canada.
Mortgage instead of renting.
Learn to surf properly.
MegaAvalanche.

That is definitely a cool if scary thing to do - the first time I had a horse flat out was on an ex-champion show jumper though - a big beast which could shift!

My list (the ones I can remember right now)
- learn to paraglide
- learn to kitesurf
- learn to ride my Lidl unicycle
- ride the Severn bore (I have vague ideas about going for the distance record in a kayak if the boat I own works on it, but I have to actually try riding the thing first!)
- win the lottery
- ride a tandem with my sons (one at a time - maybe buy a triplet though)

I'm not a very ambitious person really, just want to keep on riding my bike as much as possible, and to pay off my debts.
