I'm off for a weekend. Won't have a car and I've been to the cathedral, eaten and drunken myself into a stupor in the kolsch houses on other trips. Any idea of other things to do there?

Oops, sorry, I thought you said "Things to do with Cologne".

Have a look at TripAdvisor - great travel website - you'll certainly get good recommendations for restaurants and bars.

Several years ago on a works do we went on an organised walk through the tunnel that goes under the Rhine, very strange but good.

Checkout the roman museum. A staggering amount of intact artefacts and amazing mosaics. Some of the glasswear is incredible.

It might seem like a boring idea but it's well, well worth a hour or two of your time.

Oh and go for a boatride.

Train to Aachen, or for even less to see & do train to Duren - was the site of a massive nazi camp towards the end of WW2 but there is most definately nowt to do around there now. The Eiffel area is pretty & relatively close.

^That. Wot he sed.

It's really relaxing and the scenery is beautiful. I went years ago, stopped in a place called Bacharach, and had the most incredible Schwartzvaldtort I have ever eaten. Indeed, probbly the best cake I've ever eaten. Loads of little towns along the Rhine just like that.

Pick up a freebie newspaper, they have ads for places you can get yourself gefesselt, gefoltert and gefickt.

Lived there for a year and the tourist things like the roman and also the art museum are good. Great rosenquist in the art gallery. The chocolate museum is actually also fun and the night life is good around am Ring. There was a german cinema that played english language film and let you take in your own beer!
