you should jab not swing with fire extinguishers - a swing gives people too long to duck or get an arm up.

right, but for the wrong reasons..

Big swinging arcs leave the chest, ribs, kidney or solar plexus exposed, so as you say, jabbing motions or short arcs, with any long weapon..

You can give yourself a nasty crack on the elbow with an RS232 cable end though, Junkyard, when playing 'cable nunchuck ninjas'

Real men use shuriken....

Used to have loads of these. Our poor shed door was peppered with holes from them. And butterfly knives and nunchucks (trained with them a lot in karate - I gave myself a black eye with some)... oh dear...

I've never been much of a fighter, reason I've lived so long is I can do a standing 40 yards faster than anyone else I've even met.

I've never been in a fight in my life. I once got punched in the back of the head by someone who thought I was someone else.

I suspect it's because he couldn't see my 'physique' and thus didn't realise that I clearly wasn't a threat to his manhood!

See any chest hair on this fine specimen? He either shaved it or it just fell out out of fear. Either way.

I have very little body hair either, even before I shave my legs, again, just not a threat to people's manhood.

Occasional chest wig trimmer here - otherwise it gets in the way.

Hardest man is my 22 month old boy - he's just been on the heavy bag showing dad how it's done:

Never had a fight and never hit another, been hit a few times but not enough to react other than to laugh.

My method was to either walk away or disfuse the situation with humour/sarcasm.

Got my check bone bust by one punch from a running gorilla of a thug, which i didn't even see coming, i just shock my head and walked away. It cost him and i thanked him for the compo the next time he tried it on.

I can't be bothered with it, had one bloke keep inviting me outside, he pushed me and spilt a little of my beer, i said, "steady!", he did it again and asked me what i was going to do about it..i told him i'd drink whats left and had a sip, this wound him up further so he swung for me, i knew it was coming so stepped to the side and he fell over, them embarasingly skulked off, warning me as he went.....Top night out that.

one day though i guess i will have to make my mark..

Interesting that most of the fights described seem to revolve around alcohol in some way. Seems a lot of people (not necessarily the posters) can't handle alcohol very well.

The one thing I've learned is that the quietest folks are the ones to be wary of, the ones who mouth off generally are on the receiving end. I too went to uni in Wales and never had a fight, but I guess it was because I was friends with a kick-boxing national champion, seriously, he was one of the most unassuming people I have ever met. I find it in the world of cycling too, the best guys are the quite ones, the less good have to shout how good they are.

I hope that comment doesn't refer to ME Barnsleymitch..

If you are trying to insinuate that I perhaps don't take my mammal bashing seriously.. then I will have no qualms whatsoever about startling an innocent squirrel to teach you a lesson pal.. possibly a hedgehog too..

do you want that on your conscience?

Guile had power in his kicks. He was slower so you needed timing to use him well.

Sonic BOOM.

One fight in my adult life, I gobbed off, he hit me, I fell down, My boxing mates leathered him. I felt guilty and bought him a pint.

He's a complete p1ss taker and is so dry that it's just not easy to spot. That post on page 1 was a subtle dig at surf mat I reckon.

I'd say the brother in law is arder than most in "real" fighting terms. He's as far away from a street fighter as you'll ever find, nice kid, good head on his shoulders. Been pretty unlucky in his personal life tbh (lost his nan to the big C a few weeks before an important career changing 4th bout, lost his head/tactics for the night, lost the bout on points, subsequently went off the rails slightly, ended up taking advantage while having a break and had key hole surgery on his locking elbows and he's now coming back stronger and more focused than before) which makes him "proppa f*kin ard innit" in my eyes. He's got the right backing, mentality and ability to go all the way to a world title, he just needs a good break from the sh1tty wheel of life out of the ring......
