Anyone heard about a break in Stamp Duty or changing the threshold? Thinking of moving but don't want to pay the 3%

Only recent change was to increase the threshhold to £175k from £125k.

The last time it was tried in the middle of a recession [91/92]it failed to buoy up the housing market

I heard someone on the radio pushing for a 'holiday' on it, that's all. Can't justify paying the 3%, recession or no recession
