Hello Singletrack,
I have bare wooden stairs and can't decide what to do with them. I can't decide whether to carpet, paint or varnish. Carpet is the most expensive option and money is tight at the moment. Painting always seems wrong for wood and the Missus has said no to varnish due to fears of slipping with the baby.
Are there any other options I have missed? All help appreciated as usual

osmo polyx hard wax oil doesnt become too slippery, but brings out the colour of the wood and is tough and durable.
