Intergral part of Christmas lunch or pellets of awfulness direct from Satan's exit hole?

Sprouts are not just for Christmas. I've been enjoying them for the past 4 weeks, and so has my wife 😉

Sprouts are like fun size savoy cabbages with a hint of nuttiness. Marvellous little chaps. I'll be enjoying a dozen or so with lunch tomorrow.

I really like sprouts, but my wife, who is no domestic godess, chose to make a sprout pie for me.The gravy part was condensed mushroom soup and she served it with lasagne.I ate it out of sympathy as she spent hours in the kitchen preparing it.
My stomach was off it for 2 weeks and i have just recovered, but she came back from the supermarket yesterday with a big bag of sprouts!

Sprouts - blanch 2 mins into boiling water. Move into a pan with some fried pancetta and butter. Toss about for a few mins. Superb.

Love them. Me and my nipper look forward to them all year round. I won't touch them out of season and always wait until the first frost of the year to tuck in.

Love them. I had a load left over once so chucked them in a chicken curry for that extra bit of oomph.

they are great during halloween too, take ferrero rocher from the wrapping, substitute sprout for chocolate, rewrap and offer to children as 'treat'

😀

another vote for the bacon panfrying option

Somehow my otherwise totally-excellent-cooking French mum usually manages to make hers taste of the smell of burning plastic. Eh?

Whereas mrs julian's are just fine.

They are the king of foods and just finished getting ours ready. Done the bacon thing too often so tomorrow is with marmalade. An evening of parping awaits

Sprouts, the Marmite of the veg world.

I love them, but, as I have teeth still, I don't like them boiled to mush.

Another vote for yummy here.

I'll be doing them with pancetta, chestnuts and some marsala a la Nigella.

Hopefully there will be enough left over for bubble and squeak on Sunday.

But I would draw the line a sprout pie.

I'll eat just about anything that's vegan and not nailed down, but sprout pie with mushroom soup gravy ?
I'm tempted to try it now to see if tastes the way I expect it would.

Sprouts are the king of vegetables.
Best when mashed up and fried with potato.
There is no finer food than Bubble & Squeak.

Best thing about sprouts is that so many people dislike them, all the more for me! 😀
