Can anyone recommend some good books in the area? I'm looking for something that is more of a story rather than a textbook on the subject.

Particularly interested in how elite athletes deal with [or don't] retirement.

Dr Steve Peters Chimp Paradox might be worth a look

I've been meaning to give Matthew Syed's Bounce a look when the unread pile shrinks down a bit.

Second Bounce - one of the best sports books I've read.

Ah, yeah, I've heard about the Chimp Paradox. Sounds like the what I'm after. Cheers for Bounce too, I'll have a look.

Chp Paradox isn't a story. It's very much a manual, albeit a very good one.

Do you mean Second Bounce of the ball, turning risk into opportunity?
