I've got one on the way.
Everytime I get one it wipes me out. I had my tonsils removed years ago, so miss the protection from them.
When I lived in Thailand, I would get a sore throat every 3-4 months that would flatten me for a day or so. Only way that it would go was with anti-biotics which was never ideal, but after more than a week of feeling crap I would give in each time.
Last time I got one back in the UK I waited a week to see if it would go, went to the doctor and he was all wittering on about over use of antibiotics etc, told him what happened and he advised me to come back in a few days if it hadn't gone, went back after another week and he was 'amazed' that it hadn't cleared up yet and gave me some penicilin.
God knows why that is my weak spot, but it does me over everytime. I'm not looking forward to the next week.
Yes I've tried natural remidies like gargling salt water etc, but never does it for me.
Oh no, that is rubbish. I don't Get them too often but had a bad throat on and off for a about three weeks recently which finally turned into a heavy cold/ear and chest infection and the worst of the lot was definatly the sore throat. You have my sympathy 🙁
