After 8 weeks off, I've been gagging for a beer. I start a new training/interval cycle on Tuesday.

Tonight Matthew, I'm going to have a beer. Or two.

TBH I think if you can relax about your training/weight/position/whatever this week you'll enjoy riding more and probably do better.

Tbh Al you've you've echoed my thoughts. I've a 130k sunny reliability ride on Sunday which should be enjoyable. So it's curry and beer tonight.

Then on Tuesday I start a program to train for a series starting mid march. Plus I'm a bit like a wound spring ATM.

So, now is the right time for some downtime I feel.

Was thinking staropramen tbh. Mainly cause it's one of my favorite commercial lagers.

Apart from the helpful ones for others. But hey, freedom of choice, you don't have to read them. For exactly the same reasons you've posted above, I don't no longer read your threads.

I really don't want to sew any more seeds of doubt...but...isn't it broadly accepted your muscles take 4-6 weeks to adapt/improve after training?

Soks the Younger is home from Uni for the weekend and is insisting that I allow him to buy me beer - first ones since 6th Jan. It would be rude not to. 🙂

I'd say a proper blow out should include Real Beer (not cacky yellow syrup) and whiskey sour chasers until your right eye no longer focuses on that really nice lady over theres bottom 😉

Do enjoy it won't you 8)

He's overly excited about his jacket, so he's been posting it on every thread he's been on. I'm still amused 🙂

Base training. Or more accurately riding slowly culminating with a nice day out on Sunday - although it's a club ride so hopefully they won't put the hammer down.

Bit late for Base, should be cutting over to Build phase about now (for UK cycling calender)...

Well, I went shopping and ended up with this as the post work refresher/relief:

[img] [/img]

...then will settle down with some of this...

[img] [/img]

...and this...
[img] [/img]

... all supported with these:

[img] [/img]

and if I'm still concious at Mrs Kryton's bedtime and can find something philosophical / manly action-like on the box, I'll send my self off with this:

[img] [/img]

Should be a good night, followed by the Bike show in the morning. 🙂

I'm just waiting for whoever hosts the picture to notice all the hotlinking and change the file to a picture of a wang 🙂

Edit:

I'll hopefully be on Mighty Oak's Maldon Gold tonight 😀

I managed a Dry January, now enjoying my usual one or two beers a week. Got an Innis & Gunn Treacle Porter lined up for the weekend.

Biscuit Free February is still going to plan, which is easier than I thought it would be

Mind you I'm easy to find as I have a planned/repetitive agenda:

1) Get a coffee
2) Ogle at Salsa's and road bikes
3) Say hello to Mister P
4) Look for the pulled pork & apple roll stand for lunch
5) Compare the Met & Kask Helmets I want
6) Spend 2 hrs debating which helment I want whilst wandering around an expensive boat
7) Ogle at Salsa's and road bikes
8) Go home

It's not going well. 2 Stars and I feel sick, kind if like a motion sickness. I've just downed a chicken shish lavash and lamachun hot and feel slightly better.

I really don't want to throw up later.

I'm sorry to bore you. Would it help that I produce a go pro time lapse video in the essence of Smack my Bitch Up, without the driving scene yet with a backdrop of kids toys in a living room? It'd have a STW orientated shocking big reveal at the end, something to the tune of - I don't have a wood burning stove to be seen anywhere?

Oh sorry. Only it wasn't obvious. And with my 3 pint paranoia and being the architect of the thread it was an easy assumption to make.

Or maybe it wasn't. (Shrugs). Am interesting thought though.
