You aren't. This chap, however, is.
Love that. I still can't fully believe it.
😀
Whaaaaat? Skillz right there.
Brilliant
Neato.
Very good!
This guy is good, he must be, he still has all his fingers!
Very good, I imagine I'd end up with 10cuts to my finger & lots very bloody stained bits of tinder 😳
Tried making some...........they wooden't work.
IGMC
That's witchcraft.
My Dad does stuff like that 🙂
Think that's good? Take a look at what he did with one block of wood!

Go on then, ill nibble - how do the two sides of the pliers stay together?
One bit is through a hole in the other bit, but both sides of that bit are wider than the hole, so it can't come out.
"Don't try this at home" comes to mind.
Take a look at what he did with one block of wood!
Hells bollocks! That's a bit special.
woot!?
Amazing!
Amazing, both the pliers and the fact he has 10 fingers
Proper grandpa 'magic'....
Another pointless but satisfying thing to try to remember when I have grand kids! 'Cos that'll the be the first time I have enough spare time to try
That's on the This Is Colossal website.
If you fancy something else a bit special then have a look on that website at the old Japanese guy making one of the wooden dolls on a lathe.
I was transfixed by it.
Just lost a good while on thisiscolossal.com. Some great stuff - check the bloke making glass horses...
One of those other videos has answered a question that's bugged me for years. Can you carve a wooden chain? Yes you can.
Loved that.
My dad once showed me how to whittle a whistle.
Amazing skills.
Anyone interested in woodworking should also check out Paul Sellers.
Like the gentleman above he has a calm and confident manner that you get with a lifetime's experience, and makes you think "I could give that a go"
I'm in the process of building his workbench now and I'm totally addicted to his videos and blog.
I cringed every time he made a cut, fingers and thumbs in front of the blade, which is why I'll never be able to carve wood
If I did I wouldn't have fingers and thumbs, same result really 🙂
Some skillz there
He won't cut his fingers even when working towrds them because he's applying the forces in a very controlled way using limited movements.
my thumbs started bleeding just watching that!
How useful are pliers made from wood that soft? 😉
