Testing my psychic powers here... so, without even clicking on that link, I'm guessing this is the tale of the chap breaking into a substation to steal metal and instead getting a nasty shock? Was just reading the story, thought exactly the same thing 😆

I love this story. Instant payback! I'd like to wire up my flat like that. Although, thinking about it, that could be a bad idea....

A 0/10 round our way did something similar a couple of years ago.

Released from prison in the morning and found smouldering under a pylon with a set of ladders and bolt cutters in the afternoon. 🙄

substations are potentially fatal and in the past our staff have discovered charred bodies in substations after similar incidents.

Ohm my god that was bad! People on here are currently not conducting themselves in a very humorous manner. Can everyone please show some resistance when it comes to bad puns.

Blimey.

Guess I had a lucky escape as a kid. I used to get all my pron from the substation on our estate.

I'd have been especially at risk with a moist-ended stonker wafting around all that wiring and VCBs. 😕

Not exactly the quintessential David Niven-esque English gentleman cat-burglar then.

There should be AMPle evidence to convict him.

Bet he'll contact a solicitor and look into the accessibility to get into the station for grounds for a claim. I honestly think this will be looking into.

(Considering the amount of legal ads on freeview at the moment that this lad will be bound to see)

Then his mates would given him a real roasting

Walk down any small backwater street and you'll see why. I was in central Huddersfield the other day and every fat woman had an equally fat and vacant child with them, they breed idiots and as they dont work or travel they'll breed within essentially the same estate/gene pool I bet.

Well, he obviously wasn't a well-grounded type of individual.

I'm surprised this story has generated much interest, really. It'll make the headlines faraday, then everyone will forget about it.

To be honest, If this guy had been killed outright, I could almost see how folk would be a bit black-humoured... But for the sake of nicking a bit of metal he's going to have a lifetime of pain, disfigurement and disablilty, and I really cannie laugh at that.

And the pisstake seems to have encouraged others such as countzero to add even more insensitive threads.

west kipper. I don't know what to say. My parents taught me not to make fun of other misfortune however he went equipped into an area that no sane person would even consider going into and they he tried stealing the ****ing wires/cables. Hes not the brightest is he?

You know what, I'm with hora on that one. The fella went in there to nick a bunch of stuff that we, being the bunch of mugs that we are, will ultimately have to pay to put back. So **** him, quite frankly. Simple as that.

Edric, death from burns isn't always instant, and some unlucky people survive in agony for some time before dying (like a mate of mine)
It still makes me shudder to think about it.

this guy wasn't so lucky...

A man has been electrocuted during a suspected burglary at an electricity substation in Suffolk.

The 30-year-old was found dead at the substation in Ransomes Way, Ipswich, by paramedics on Wednesday night.

Police said doors at the back of the building had been forced and some metal cutting tools were found.

A second man flagged down the ambulance as it arrived at the scene but disappeared shortly afterwards, police said.

I'm told the Sheffield bloke was part of a family trip to the sub-station. Dad, two sons and a daughter. Do you want to go the sea-side kids? Nah, that's boring.

Well some of you may feel the need to react negatively but I shall remain neutral until the man is actually charged.

However he was also a fan of AC/DC so needs a bit of a shock to the system to me him see sense.

This is NOT a laughing matter seeing as this guy was neither a bright spark NOR a live wire. He is suffering despite his lack of any logic AND reasoning. Let's just hope this story remains a lesson to anyone else that wants to jump the GATE of authority.

Resistance is futile, however

not the brightest spark thats for sure

I know it's been done before, but for a short time, I suspect he was by far and away the brightest person in that area - a slow-blow fuse, if you will...
