We'd planned to go away in the caravan over Easter weekend, I've got three extra days off work. Watching the forecast with interest.. I don't want to get snowed in on a caravan site!

Me Too-cancelled our trip away in the caravan to East Sussex today as Caravan Club require 3 days notice-may try & rebook if weather improves but looking grim. Normally the first trip out at Easter but it seems much more hit & miss in recent years.

Perhaps all the people who would have been stuck behind you, pootling along at 25mph, all got together and prayed for a return of winter 😉

Well I'd be heading west or south, but there's an Atlantic front coming in from the SW and when these hit cold air it's mostly the SW and Wales that get it. So I might not be able to get the caravan home 🙂

Piss off binners.

We were supposed to be away all last week in our caravan at the CC site at Scarborough.Cancelled with a day to go so the warden was not impressed but the forecast was pretty bad and turned out that way.
Rebooked for the 2nd week in April thinking that this bad weather just can't continue.

In my little world, being on a plane IS a holiday...

There was a bit of snow last Easter at Glentress, but I think the trails will be much worse this year!

We're in the same boat. Nice Hotel booked in Harrogate for the weekend. Already paid for. We have to make a decision before Wednesday to cancel or not, to get the money refunded. The forecast says snow, snow, snow and more snow all week up there. Arse-biscuits!!! I was looking forward to that too 🙁

Just cancelled first trip to Coed Y Brenin.. didn't fancy camping in this weather. But will most likely still have a stab at Glentress this weekend and possible Glenshee..

CYB was riding fine at the weekend, just a bit of ice & snow at higher levels, Dolgellau had no snow at ground level.

Were in the same boat, got a site booked near Lancaster but weathers not looking to promising, especially as we've got 5 young kids in our party. Caravans currently stored at my father in laws farm and all covered up but he says it'll need digging out cos of some major snow driftage!. Not been for a look yet as we can't get up the lane!.

Campsite cancelled here too, now looking for a last minute longhaul flight to somewhere warm - Dubai maybe. I cannot take this weather any longer - clearly getting soft

i'm the the far sw, few miles from lands end, and i can tell you that although there is no snow it is really cold here. been getting colder all day, its now just over 3deg not counting for windchill.

infact, for west cornwall it would actually be an exceptional and really cold winters day... and its the end of march!

I'm going down to suffolk to visit my mate who's just bought a new house. That county is [s]sh[/s] terrible for cyclists because it has absolutely bugger all hills. If weather's ok we're gonna go for a 50 miler on 2 wheels and if it's bad we're gonna catch a bus out somewhere rural about 15 miles and walk back, visiting a hostelry every 3 or 4 miles on the way back. Either way I'm very much looking fwd to it. 😀

Yip, I'm in a similar boat. Kids off school for a fortnight so we went to our caravan on Friday night. Water feed pipe was fully frozen (I'd drained down the system so no problems my side of the valve) and it also looks like the gas regulator valve has moisture in and has frozen, so no cooking/ boiler etc.

[img] [/img]

I ended up flushing the toilet with a bucket of water from the river, a very cold experience.

Ended up coming home on Saturday. I too am watching the forecast with interest, hopefully we can get up after this weekend for a few days.

To sour things a bit more, the wife has suggested if the weather doesn't get any better, then I fit the new bathroom suite instead!

Last Easter, we were camping in the Lakes in a new tent. The tent leaked on the first night and the following night was forecast to be -2 and snowing so we retreated home.

This Easter, we're booked to go camping in the Lakes :/

We've now cancelled our B&B in Peebles as the OH has come down with a chest infection, so there is a lovely double room going spare at a very nice B&B here: http://www.castlehill-knowe.co.uk/

Real shame as I've stayed there at Easter for the last 10 or so years!

Also booked (pod) camping in the lakes over the bank holiday. There's no such thing as bad weather etc but its a bit less fun in the freezing cold and wet with kids!
Just cancelled 😳

Was heading to Aston Hill race, except the Hill is still totally frozen with no let-up in sight.
