I bought a FANTASTIC piece of gift-shop tat in a ski resort the other day. Sadly, it wasn't up to mild pressure changes in the plane and has leaked into my case 🙁
I'd quite like to try to refill it as it's way too "good" for binning but I suppose I'd also like to clean out the case
So what's the liquid likely to be ? Smells like diesel !
Wikipedia is your friend
The liquid has evolved to light oil and then a mixture of water and antifreeze (glycerin or glycol). An added benefit was that glycerin and glycol slowed the descent of the snow. Caution should be taken if a snow globe is broken because the liquid, which can contain antifreeze, can be deadly to cats and dogs if ingested or licked off their fur.[4]

Oh, bollocks - I can't believe I didn't google it first 🙄
Ace, should be a piss* to refill then !
wonder if google know of a brightly coloured antifreeze ?
*(figuratively)
google does know
... appears the answer is "everybody" - is that to make it less attractive to kids then? ( 😯 )
I have a snow globe, it's full of formaldehyde.
As far as I see it, you'll be fine as long as you don't go round licking it off your cat or dog's fur.
Could try aqua regia.
Just don't keep it on a windowsill!!
