I have become accustomed to growing the aforementioned facial appendage afte reading the January beard thread a couple of years ago. I only have it for the January mind, its not for life. Anyone more for any more?

I tend to go through a cycle of clean shave to Brian blessed beard and repeat so generally in some state of beard growth. Tend to be at it's biggest around January though.

I tend to let mine grow for a couple of weeks, then cut it back with the trimmer.
Depending on where I am in the cycle, I can have anything between the George Michael/Phil Collins or Brian Blessed/Noel Edmonds look.

For those who do wear a beard, a quick question if I may. How long does it take do get a decent density of growth? I trim the length but it still looks patch. Just wondering how long I keep trying for before I should admit defeat and give up. It's been four weeks so far.
Don't trim it too much, just do a tidy job and leave it, 3 months will see a thick even growth
Three months? Wife is going to love that!

Damn and I just had a shave as well, hopefully someone will start up a shows yer shaved face thread or a shaved head thread, not that I have a shaved head.
I tend to grow mine for about 2 to 3 weeks then shave in the winter or colder months.
How do you take care of one of those long beards, do you have to use cleaning products or shampoo and if it gets itchy, do you simply use head and shoulders?

I do like beards. Many of these are very excellent.
My glamourous-est female friend has banned me from having one. I take her sartorial advice generally, but with a hint of wistfulness in the matter of the beard. 🙂
