I fancy getting back into climbing.

Used to climb at Foundry and Edge (around the time The Edge opened) and the occasional bit of real stuff when I was a teenager, but bikes moved to the fore so I haven't done it for years now.

I fancy getting back into it, but obviously I'm billy no mates when it comes to climbing and no idea where I'd start. Any advice?

Just turn up on my own?

"That'll be £3.40 sir. Enjoy the walls".[/i]

The Climbing works, has a beginners group. An excllent venue, and a good opportunity to meet other climbing billy no mates who have just started and dont know any other climbers.

Give em a bell.

Or even better go onto UKC and ask for a partner. I have done that many times on there.

That sounds like what I'm after. Thanks.

The climbing works is probably your best bet if you are on your own. Another site to look at is ukbouldering, it has a strong Sheffield bias and is less full of bs than ukc.
