I need to replace the pond liner on the roof as its starting to tear.ย

I'm happy to go with pond liner again but I've lost all paperwork for the current one and have no idea on which grade I used....ย

There was someone on here that had done the same and I got the idea from them.

Any help please?ย

Cheers.ย

Not sure, it was felted initially and patched up many times.ย

I put a dpm over that then a pond liner over that.

For convenience I will add another one.ย

I did my old one with a pond liner.

I've moved house recently and have just built a new shed, also with a pond linerย

The reason for my choice was that both are turf roofs, the first still going strong after 9yrs, the second isn't yet finished but will hopefully have strawberries in it next springย

Waterproof and easily shaped. Also, because I have compost and things over it there's no UV exposure or anything to worry about, maybe that helps with longevity? 7" joists, 18mm OSB then pond liner over, compost on top. Plenty strong enough to walk about on, about 4-5" deep compost.

Anyway, no idea what grade. The first one came off a huge roll from the garden centre, the second was the biggest one from Screwfixย

How did you add drainage Andrew?ย  I did my logstore with rubber but don't want to go down that route for my next wee store I'm planning on building

I put Firestone EPDM on our garage roof in 2013, still looks like new. Don't be tempted with no brand stuff, it might not be UV stable, we had some cheaper stuff on the shed which cracked and was also replaced with Firestone some years ago.

If it's a pitched roof then onduline works well. Also not too expensive. Redid our shed with one of their shed packs 4 years ago and still looking great.

Our log store has a "living" roof. We originally thought we'd end up with guttering but tried something else first as we could add gutters later.

ย

The pitch is lowest at the front with a fair amount of overhang, the soil is retained by a felt like material and a metal rail that acts like a sieve. This simply drains over the edge onto hardy water loving plants. Was fairly sure we'd end up with erosion but it's actually fine. But we are easy coast, if we was on the west coast it might see too much rain. The roofing sheets are OSB excessively coated in bitumen, then EDPM, been up for 8 years now, each summer I check round and lob more bitumen at the accessible parts.
