I’m looking for a fairly thick one.. Have a Grand Canyon cruise 5.0 currently that is a bit too thin and/or not firm enough. intended use is to sleep on a room floor rather than in a tent.
I’m sure this has been a fairly recent thread, so someone with a better grasp of the search function than me maybe able to point me in the right direction..
Does it need to be self inflating? The ones you inflste with a little pump or bag (or your mouth, but they can get manky fast like that) are thicker and a lot more comfy imo. Any of the Alpkit for cheap good value for money or Thermrest neoair for lots of cash but lots of warmth (and total overkill for your use)
We've got 8 self inflating* mattresses in the house! but it was only last year that I finally got round to buying one because it was " the best" rather than it being cheap.
Got a thermarest Mondo King. Only slept one night on it but it seems good.

Is the thermarest one that has individual air compartments or something to make it more stable?
I use a Berghaus one from Go Outdoors, used it a few times. Was sceptical about the reviews si ging its praises, but it really is a very nice thing to sleep on.
I bought a clearance Vango Double inflating mattress. It folds in half for Uber single comfort, or just fills the floor of the tent when there are two of us. Super comfy and about 2kg!

There's also a 10cm thick version I wish we had, but the 7.5s were bought on the cheap.
I can recommend Trekology matresses. We first got the UL80 for my sons scouts trips and more recently bought two of their UL140 versions. The latter is better as its both wider and has the integrated pump. Really comfy but rolls up small enough for backpacking.

What are you actually looking for? If it's for a "room floor" then is it a temporary bed? Somewhere with power? Is weight / bulk a consideration?
The whole point of a 'self-inflating' mattress is its inherent thermal insulation, this isn't a requirement if you're indoors. I have an inflatable mattress that I use as a spare bed, it's comfy as anything but I wouldn't want to carry it much further than across the landing.
vango oddessy grande 10cm here as well - the grande means its proper mattress size, and 10cm thick means its comfy. I've got the Vango 7.5 for the van and other than the issue they have with the valves I can't see how anything gets more comfortable.
I did read reviews on this from people that had owned or also owned the 10cm and most seemed to say they couldn't tell the difference.
Not sure on the idea of a double for 2 people though... to me the beauty of these is you can make them as hard or soft as you like...

The "self inflating" ones are a different thing altogether. (especially the non luggable thick ones)
I'd put them up there with the dropper as a game changer.
Can take a bit of experimenting to get the right general pressure for your weight/preferred support but totally blown away and the reviews were actually true.
