Granted, I may have developed a slight 'Winter Belly' (it's an investment), but Hackney Rider's comments are extremely hurtful and insensitive. I suspect he's still bitter over the footy...

I won't lie; I'm not quite as fit and svelte as I can be. A dark, cold winter hazzunt exactly motivated me to go out and ride, and the recent ear infection has prevented me form going swimming. And just when I was getting back into it, I go and cut me bloody finger. Which further prevented any exercise. So, I have put on a couple of pounds.

And I certainly felt the lack of fitness, climbing up from Peaslake. Even Hackney Waddler was quicker.

Mind, it was possibly a benefit on the downhill bits. What HackneyFatty hazzunt told you, is that I left him for dead, on them. BKNB, he was nowhere near me. And on the Telegraph run, he had no chance. I haz skilz dem. He may try to tell you his back brake was not working, but that's just an excuse.

And as for the Rude Shore, well, I'll let the evidence speak for me.
