Extraordinarily, my parents have almost reached 40 years of marriage (next month), and I need to buy a gift that marks the occasion.
So, any suggestions as to the sort of "joint" gifts that tend to be given for these sort of things?

Are they into gardening - There is a rose called "Ruby Wedding".

My parents got one from my Mums Sisters and my Mum told me what it was for, of course, I had forgotten so felt terrible.
