The Royal Mail have just launched a new product called RedTag, it's effectively a track and trace product, which eventually will have posties carrying gps enabled PDA's. When the letter/parcel is delivered at the address the system is updated automatically.
People sending post will be able to see where abouts in the system their post is. Currently it's only up to the local depot and the HHTs will be introduced next year.
I believe it's positioned between special delivery and registered/signed for...
We will not be carring big brother PDAs for quite a few years,drivers carry them but the cost is well over the top for every postie.
