i have been offered a htc hd which has been rooted i know nothing about this is it a good idea or should i avoid it can i unroot it would it be then locked to the origonal providor

rootings good. i did mine. just gives you more options for roms, battery settings etc. just more choices basically. no down sides as far as i know.
