I bought a product on tuesday and have been looking through the instructions, some of the parts with the product don't feature on the instructions all a bit odd. Anyway I would prefer to exchange for a different item, or refund. What are my rights?? Is it 14 days from purchase?

did you buy it on sale? was it on sale for a reason i.e. incomplete etc?

If you've just changed your mind and want a different one, it's at the stores discretion whether they allow you to return it at all, or offer you either a credit note or full refund.

Your rights are generally you can have a refund if it's faulty, or miss-sold (e.g. as new when it's damaged / secondhand stock). Other than that it's discretionary, and the store is likely to want to hold as much cash as they can right now...

No wasn't on sale, I presume it's not faulty but there are parts in the box that don't match the fitting instructions all a bit odd as if the instructions are out of date

Your rights are "return for exchange if faulty" and nothing else.

However, many shops go much further than that for the sake of customer service. You'll need to ask the shop, as it's at their discretion.

I've just had a rubbish experience with TISO who refused me an exchange on an item bought from them. As unhappy as I am, it's their right to do that. It's my right not to buy anything else from them ever, but that didn't seem to matter to them.

So possibly these instructions which are incorrect could be deemed as a fault, although I'd rather not be that picky. oh well!
