When in Glasgow we go to rogano. Keep going back - that must be a good sign. Menus and prices on their site. Nice decor - especially downstairs.

I used to be a big fan of the City Merchant, though I went off it about a year ago however a recent report from a friend suggests it's back to its best.

It is a bit pricey though

+1 for Crabshakk.

Rogano is well past its best and has been trading on its former reputation for years, IMO.

Also sorry to say that I ate at the City Merchant the other week and it was utterly dire. I mean really, offensively bad on every level.

Would always recommend Stravaigin on Gibson Street. Also the Left Bank across the road. Always good seafood options at both. Number 16 on Byres road is also very consistent.

Not seafood but if you like Thai then I'd recommend the Thai Orchid 336 Argyle Street which is near the central station. I ate there a couple of times back in October when I had a job at the SECC and it was very good.

Any of the two fat ladies are good.. Been to Dumbarton road and one near blytheswood square.. Both lovely.. Specialise in fish but last time I was there had an amazing steak.. Not dirt cheap but decent value considering the quality of the food!

Crabshakk again, lovely. I hear crabby macs in the west end is very good as well.

Go to Crabshakk (not on a monday, like most proper seafood places, it's shut) then step outside and turn right, have some drinks in the following - The park bar, the Goat, and then brewdog right across from kelvingrove. Good times.

As a regular diner in Glasgow, and a lover of seafood I'd recommend-

Two fat ladies at 88 Dumbarton Road, better atmosphere than any of the others but you will need to book in advance
Rogano
Crab Shakk

Nobeer's on the money. For me Crabby Macs was exceptionally good! Wife been a few times and I went with her for a graduation meal and could not fault it from start to finish. If you came down the coast a bit McCallums in Troon is very good too, I think they own the fish market in Glasgow.

There's a reasonable Malaysian Restaurant / Cafe in Glasgow. I forget where.

Asia Style on St georges road. Basic but very good.

Or Rumours Kopitiam on Bath Street, top pick for the malaysian guys i have worked with.

Both are very reasonably priced.
