Hello,

My 2007 MacBook battery has finally died, and I'm looking at a replacement. I thought considering the number of IT bods on here, someone might be able to recommend a good place for a replacement battery?

eBay and Amazon seem a bit of a minefield of dodgy-looking batteries, and I really don't want a Li-Ion explosion whilst I'm using the laptop!

Thanks,

Toby

I bought a replacement MBP battery from this guy on the basis that 40,000 people couldn't be too far wrong.

It's been in since 2013 and has been flawless.

Oddly enough, if I put the two batteries side by side, it is impossible to tell the difference, right down to the different textures and reflective surfaces, the materials and their finish are identical, even under a magnifying glass. I'm not sure how you could fake that.

You may be paying through the nose, but I've found Apples batteries to be consistently the best. I've tried a couple of non-brand or 'Genuine' and they have not lasted anywhere near as long (overall lifetime and per charge).

I fitted one of these recently based on generally good feedback on amazon - no problems so far. Battery life and performance both back to normal.

Very easy to fit too.

I've had the same experience to be honest, but I've only bought a couple - the second was an Apple one!

High concentration of stored energy on my crotch, what could possibly go wrong!

I'd buy an apple battery, from apple.

Pet irrational hate of mine people that buy expensive bikes/cars/computers/whatever and can't afford to maintain them properly. This list includes people with non-carrier cassettes on light hubs and complaints about suspension wear through lack of servicing.
