What's the best way to remove the brown cr*p that parcel tape leaves behind?

It's on a set of Thule aluminum roof bars.

Nail varnish remover and a cloth, If the residues sticky the cotton wool will stick to it. WD40 and a cloth is good too.

I just any of the aerosol degreasers...the stuff that evaporates after you spray it. It's amazing what products I have for cycling that can be used around the house 😀

Hammerite thinners.
Contains Xylene. Nasty stuff, carcinogenic, but it will take it off 100%.
